Getting Started
  1. The UNFCCC roster of experts contains a list of experts, who are nominated by the Parties to the UNFCCC to contribute to a number of processes mandated by the COP and the subsidiary bodies under the UNFCCC. These processes among others include the reviews of annual submissions of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and supplementary information under the Kyoto Protocol, and reviews of national communications of Parties included in Annex I of the Convention (Annex I Parties). It also accommodates the recent mandates from the COP where Parties have been invited to nominate experts to participate in the review of biennial reports from Annex I Parties, technical assessment sessions of proposed forest reference emission levels and/or forest reference levels for activities referred to in decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 70,and technical analysis of biennial update reports.

  2. The following pages were designed to assist Parties to update information on their previous nominees and/or to nominate additional experts for the UNFCCC roster of experts based on a new application form provided here in response to the above mandate. To assist Parties in responding, instructions for updating information and submitting new nominees are contained on the page entitled Guidance to Parties: Updating of the UNFCCC roster of experts. Technical instruction on how to submit the information electronically are given on the page Instructions for on-line nomination and updating the UNFCCC Roster of Experts.
